First Meeting

Today was our first meeting about the China: Engineering and World Culture trip.  I got some valuable information about the trip and got some great advice for my time there.  The trip will be led by Dr. Xinli Wu, a professor and friend of mine through my fraternity.  I am really looking forward to spending 3 weeks with him and the others that I met at the meeting today.  It's going to be a ton of fun.

The advice that the alumni from previous trips to China gave was pretty interesting.  One guy said that we should bring our own toilet paper everywhere because many of the bathrooms do not have toilet paper stocked.  Another alumni told us to never drink the tap water.  They also said that we should try to bargain for everything we try to buy.  The street vendors will try to rip you off, but if you know how to bargain you can get great deals on lots of stuff.  They also told us to try all the food that we can.  I completely agree because it is a once in a lifetime opportunity to try some really strange and foreign foods.

I am so excited to be traveling to China.  I am counting down the days and will try to keep this blog updated.  This is my first time writing a blog so bear with me.  I leave on May 12th, so let the countdown begin...
